I got you
Leverage on my experience
Hey, thank you for subscribing.
I call this the Engineer’s Newsletter. It's designed to assist you as you embark on your journey in the engineering world, which, as many of us know, can be challenging at times. I've had my share of challenges too.
I began my career on the 4th of December, 2006, with MMHE – a fabrication yard known for building FPSOs and Oil and Gas platforms that cater to giants like PETRONAS, SHELL, and EXXON. There, I delved into the Engineering department, learning everything from the technical bid evaluation of mechanical equipment to its installation. However, back then, I couldn’t truly consider myself a Design Engineer because I wasn't involved in initiating specifications and datasheets.
To fill that gap, I needed to work with a Consultant Firm. So, I made a move to KL, joining MMC as a Mechanical Design Engineer. There, I finally got to generate specifications and datasheets. My signature can be found on a number of oil and gas projects.
While I was content, I always yearned for more knowledge and experience.
Thus, my offshore and onshore adventures began. In 2014, I gained my first offshore experience, and by 2015, I was part of the Sulphur complex in the RAPID project.
Now, at 40, I work with PrefChem, specializing in static equipment. I can confidently say that this role has been my most challenging yet, as I witness firsthand the effects of good or poor design, installation, and operation activities.
Enough about my journey. Now, it's your turn. As someone with a bit more experience under my belt, I'm here to lend a hand or offer an ear. Well, one ear to be precise, as I permanently damaged my right one back in 2007.
I'm currently wrapping up articles on the basics of Shell and Tube Heat Exchangers and will soon dive into Air Fin Heat Exchangers. It's quite exciting!
